2024 Opportunity Quilt

Introducing the stunning 2024 Opportunity Quilt from the Country Roads Quilt Guild, celebrating the rich tradition of Mountaineer craftsmanship! This beautiful quilt, crafted with care and creativity by our talented guild members, showcases a blend of patterns and colors inspired by the region. Quilting has long been a cornerstone of Appalachian culture, symbolizing community, resourcefulness, and storytelling. This quilt, a true collective effort, honors those values in every stitch.

The 2024 Opportunity Quilt will be on display at the Mountaineer Week Quilt Show where you can have a chance to bring home this one-of-a-kind piece and support our guild!

Most items for the quilt show will require a hanging sleeve. See directions below to make a nice permanent sleeve with optional bound buttonhole. Or, see tips on making a temporary sleeve that can be pinned on.

Temporary sleeve tips:

Cut the sleeve a bit deeper if it's going to be pinned on, because it may not be possible to place the pins as close to the edges as stitching would be. We want the sleeve to fit loosely around the hanging pipe, so don't want it too snug. Follow the sleeve directions for permananet sleeve, but cut the sleeves about 11" tall (instead of 9").
